DV Command - Acceleration/Deceleration Detection

Configures trigger thresholds to detect sudden braking or accelerations calculated from the GPS module.

What is it for?

  • 🚨 Road safety — Detect emergency braking or dangerous accelerations
  • 📊 Driving analysis — Evaluate driver’s driving style
  • 🛡️ Accident prevention — Alert about risky behaviors
  • 💰 Fuel savings — Identify aggressive driving that increases consumption
  • 📋 Incident reports — Record sudden driving events

Parameters

FieldDescriptionValues
aaTrigger index00-03 (4 triggers available)
bEvent type+ acceleration, - braking
cccMagnitude (km/h variation per second)000-999

The magnitude represents the speed variation in km/h during one second. For example, 050 means a variation of 50 km/h in 1 second.

SignalDescription
DV00Acceleration/braking trigger index 0
DV01Acceleration/braking trigger index 1
DV02Acceleration/braking trigger index 2
DV03Acceleration/braking trigger index 3

Examples

Detect sudden braking (50 km/h variation)

>SDV01-050< // Trigger 01 activates with deceleration >= 50 km/h per second

Detect strong acceleration

>SDV02+040< // Trigger 02 activates with acceleration >= 40 km/h per second

Query configuration

>QDV01< // Response: RDV01-050

Usage in Event Rules

Sudden braking report

>SRL99E;TRG=DV01+;ACC={GCQ10H}< // Generates CQ10 report when sudden braking is detected

Very low values can generate false positives due to normal GPS variations. It is recommended to use values >= 30 for braking and >= 25 for accelerations.
