HO Command

The HO (Hourmeter) command allows you to manage the device’s built-in hourmeter, ideal for tracking usage time in heavy machinery and vehicles.

What is it used for?

  • ⏱️ Engine or machinery operating hours control
  • 🔧 Preventive maintenance scheduling (service)
  • 📊 Usage reports for productivity analysis
  • 🚜 Ideal for heavy machinery, generators, agricultural fleets

The hourmeter is not automatically linked to any internal event. To start, stop, or reset the count, you must send specific commands or configure logic rules.

Syntax

Query hourmeter

QHO

Response: RHOabbbbbbbb

Configure hourmeter

SHOa

Parameters

ParameterDescription
aAction to perform (see following table)
bbbbbbbbAccumulated time in seconds (hexadecimal, 8 digits)

Available actions

ValueActionDescription
EEnableStarts/continues counting
DDisableStops counting
CClearResets counter to zero
S,valueSetSets value in hours (v1.9.17+)

The counter starts at 00000000 (zero) when the system initializes.

Usage Examples

Query accumulated time

>QHO< // Response: RHOE0001517F (E=active, 86399 seconds = 23h 59m 59s)

Hexadecimal to hours conversion

HexDecimal (sec)Time
00000E1036001 hour

0001517F86399~24 hours
000D2F0086400010 days

Manual control

>SHOE< // Start counting >SHOD< // Stop counting >SHOC< // Reset to zero

Set Custom Value

Available since v1.9.17 — Allows setting the hourmeter to a specific value in hours.

Syntax

>SHOS,value< // Sets hourmeter in hours

The value is specified in hours with decimals.

Set examples

// Sync with equipment hourmeter (150.5 hours) >SHOS,150.5< >RHO OK... // Set to 1000 hours of use >SHOS,1000< >RHO OK... // Set with precise decimals >SHOS,2345.75< >RHO OK...

Useful for syncing the GPS hourmeter with the actual usage hours of the machinery at installation time.

Automation with Rules

To link the hourmeter with vehicle ignition:

// Start when turned on (PWR+ with IGN active, or IGN+) >SRL90E;TRG=PWR+;CND=IGN;ACC={SHOE}< >SRL91E;TRG=IN07+;ACC={SHOE}< // Stop when ignition is turned off >SRL92E;TRG=IN07-;ACC={SHOD}<

Result: The hourmeter automatically counts only when the vehicle is running.

Reports with Hourmeter

To include the hourmeter value in position reports, use:
